Welcome to the CNS webpage!

The Center for Nationalist Studies is a students organization based at the Univesity of the Philippines at Diliman.

Formed in 1982, the Center has constantly and actively defended and advocated the rights and welfare of students and the people. It provided the machinery for sustained education programs and information campaigns; the cornerstone of its devotion to promote and develop nationalist consciousness and action among the university's studentry.

Launched Labor Day 1998, .cns extends the Center's reach into the fronteirs of the Information Highway.

.cns hopes to serve as a venue for Filipino students and youths to tap into important information concerning issues and struggles facing the studentry, youth, and the people in general; an on-line venue for interaction and discussion.

Through .cns, the Center also offer students around the globe a hand of solidarity and friendship. Students have always been at the forefront of struggles for genuine systemic change, ever vigilant, militant and critical. .cns salutes the world's patriotic students and youths in struggle.

We'd often be updating this page as breaking news, issues and campaigns reach our desk. So please come back to check us out once in a while.

For those who'd like to help out in the campaigns and struggles that the Center is currently involved in, we've posted the issues and links to other sites for easier reference. If you have or know of campaigns or struggles you may want us to post, send them in too. ~ cns.campaigns@eudoramail.com

the RP-US VFA Paper

The hottest current issue in the Philippines is the Visiting Forces Agreement between the Philippines and America. It's also the topic of discussion in our D.G. Room and Forum Hall, so read the document and join the action.

CNS is a proud member of the Students Alliance for the Advancement of Democratic Rights-U.P. (STAND-UP), a union of students organizations fighting commercialization of education and campus repression; and of the September 16 Movement (S16), an alliance of students groups opposing the approval of the RP-US Visiting Forces Agreement.
